In Lander, WY, the snow started on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. We left before that, Thankfully!! (Marley is a bit sad as he loves the cold and snow!)
Left early morning, headed for Mesquite and arrived ( about 8 pm) at the Eureka Casino, where RVers are allowed to park for free in the parking lot. Went to the casino for dinner. (Marley was sad again. After a long boring day in the car, no dogs allowed in the casino.)
On to Lake Mead, our home away from home. Beautiful sunny days, cool nights, long walks, and fabulous scenery. (Marley is supremely happy….he loves the water during a long walk to drink and to cool off.)

Good thing we love it here. As we drove from Mesquite to Lake Mead, we became aware of “road noise” that became increasingly insistent. At first, we thought it might be noise from having the tires rotated. As it got louder we thought maybe it was our hearing aids LOL or maybe the open windows. As we made forays into Boulder City, Henderson, and Las Vegas for….”stuff”, it was so bad we feared we might break down. We went into Boulder City, to a mechanic we had used previously (which is now Meinekes who wisely kept the same crew). They were extremely helpful. Initial diagnosis…u joints. Not! Wasn’t the u joints. Turns out it was the differential that needs rebuilding. Muchos dolares y muchos tiempo required. (Marley says “Hurray”….no more long car trips. Except, he is in great fear of the rental car.)
So here we sit for another two weeks or so. It has given us lots of time to explore.

As beautiful as the snow scenes are I know you three will be happier on your journey to the sunshine and warmth! Good timing! Enjoy every adventure!
Yes but….last night we had a freeze warning (it didn’t freeze) but it is still quite chilly. But….nothing like Lander. Hoping the repair will be done sooner than the estimated two weeks!!
