And Here we Sit

Day 25 of our stay here at Lake Mead. And there she sits….our sweet old truck, still waiting for parts. As a result, here WE sit!

But we haven’t been idle. We’ve been visiting our favorite haunts and taking in the “Sights of the Season” here in Boulder City as well as a single visit into Las Vegas (which was more than enough for us!)

And last (but not least in terms of action) was a visit to the Las Vegas Art District! As we drove to Las Vegas to see if we could find “The District”, there was unusually heavy traffic. We heard a lot of sirens and saw all kinds of emergency vehicles as we neared the Art District. We didn’t give it too much notice. After all, it was Vegas, and near “the strip”. Parked and went exploring. We both found it a bit of a disappointment. Marley, on the other hand, loved it. He got to interact with his many admirers and even met a fellow brindle he was desperate to play with.

We left without too much trouble and headed southbound on I 515. No problem. Northbound, it was bumper to bumper, extremely slow moving traffic almost all the way from downtown Vegas to where we exited at the Boulder City exit. Not being familiar with the traffic patterns and big events happening, we weren’t quite sure what to make of it. When we got back home and were getting reading to watch the news, we learned what all the “action” was about….a shooting at the University….at exactly the same time we were in Vegas.

NEWSFLASH: Just got a most welcome call that the rebuilt differential for our truck arrived at Meineke’s and that we should get the truck back on Monday, a good 4 days before expected.
