14 km, great walking weather…cool with sun and clouds…a bit windy. Got underway at 9. Most of the walk was along the valley sides, quite high up. Here are a few views as we walked out of Aosta.

On these long walks that we do, every day seems to take on its own flavor. Today’s flavor? Fruits, veggies, flowers.

Steep ups and downs on the walk today but shorter, not as continuous as yesterday. A lot of walking beside the rus, ancient irrigation canals. One section of very very steep, twisty turns perilous downhill into Nus – lots of loose rocks. We were happy to have both hiking poles each. We picked our way down oh-so-carefully. Too focussed on getting down without breaking a leg or worse, a neck, to take pictures. This was the final section. The pic doesn’t really show the steepness.

Passed Quart Castle which is undergoing reconstruction. Way up high, where we traversed the valley sides, high, high up.

The variety of pathways today…

New friends..

And then it was time to check into our lodging, Agriturismo Maison Rosset! What a wonderful surprise awaited us. Spectacularly beautiful. We learned that the label “Agriturismo” refers to places that grow their own food to serve at their meals….a working farm. This one is so very elegant. Pics that follow are ones we took upon arrival, first glimpses of our room, and later, a walk around the grounds.

Looking forward to dinner here at 8!
