Pont St. Martin to Ivrea 24 km, 7 hours moving time. It was cloudy and cool with a bit of rain. Tough uphill scramble on hands and feet for me, that is, at the beginning of the walk but that was the worst. All day we passed through vineyards and small towns.
It was a long walk made even longer by taking a wrong turn to walk around Lake Pistono but very pretty. We had been a bit anxious about the distance and terrain but two thirds of the ay we got a second wind and felt like we were flying! Over the moon with ourselves and our “walking legs.”
We have left the region of Aosta Valley and entered the region known as Piedmont. Because of the longer mileage we got in later and so, in the blog, I am just posting pics of the trails and landscape we passed through.

Incredible view of the vineyards! We were intrigued!
And quite a treacherous trail at times. You wouold want to have eyeballs on on your toes. You walked 24 km!! Very impressive!
