Day 44: Montefiascone to Viterbo, 18.5 km, cloudy and cool. Decided to walk – it was a lovely walk. Supposed to have great views from above Lake Bolsena but all we saw was a lot of mist and fog.
We got to our accommodation, went out for lunch and came back for a snooze. We were woken by thunder and lightning! Now didn’t we plan that just right!!
Met a group of women and a single man this morning at breakfast in our hotel, all from Kelowna I think. One of the women had had a fall in the mud. Thank heavens nothing was broken-just bruised. The ones who walked said it was pretty bad. So again, happy we took the bus yesterday.
5 more days of walking until we reach Roma. We’re counting down days and kilometers….now under a hundred left to go. Very ready to be done.
