up, Up, UP, UUUUUPPPPP!!!

Bardone to Berceto, supposed to be 20+ km but we only did 10! Cool with a few rays of sun in the morning but cool, overcast, and misty the rest of the day.

โ€ฆ.and a few downs but mostly, today we climbed.

Spectacular scenery. My pics donโ€™t do justice to what we saw. We started off on steep paved roads with little traffic so we were quite happy with those conditions.

Then conditions changedโ€ฆ..very very steep up, on a rocky path for quite a few kilometers.

Found some friendly gnomes at the top, a bit worse for wear, me included.

Some sweet markers along the way..

And before we knew it, we had popped out onto a paved road, took a shortcut, and were in Cassio sharing a plate of spaghetti.

While we were eating spaghetti, Mike checked the bus schedule. We were cold and wet (warmed up in the cafe though and didnโ€™t want to walk any more) and a bus would be coming by within the hour, so we were ready to jump on when it came. It was nice and warm too.

Now we are at the lovely B&B La Casa dei Nonni, showered, laundry being done, nice and warm, making arrangements with friend Brian to head out for dinner. Already made arrangements for a ride tomorrow as it is going to rain heavily and we donโ€™t want to tackle the steep up and then down of the Cisa Pass in the pouring rain. 2 -3 inches of rain predicted.

  1. Chub wants you to know… if he had known you were going to ride everywhere… we would have come along!๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜

  2. Iโ€™ve never seen it rain so hard!!!! All the pilgrims were walking on the road-I guess because the trail was impassable. And there was so much fog we couldnโ€™t see a thing. Still raining all day today so we may take a bus tomorrow! Cโ€™mon over๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  3. OK we will be on the shuttle. Chub has an Italian class 4 license!๐Ÿ˜‰
