Photogallery Day 3: Konstanz to Maerstetten by tilster Posted on 15 October, 201513 August, 2019 Gallery Leaving our hotel, fully loaded. Here we started climbing and out came the walking sticks. As we walked, we saw the stations of the cross along the path (next few pics). They were beautifully done, copper it looked like, set into stone. At the highest point of the climb today we came to a beautiful Jewish cemetery. Wrought iron gates of the cemetery So quiet and serene. Reading telling us the distance to Santiago, Spain. We saw these regularly. Holy Cross Chapel in Bernrain, beside the cemetery, built in 1388! Stopped to write in our journals for a while. Heidi and Werner, whom we met purely by accident when we stopped to take pictures of 2 raptors sitting in a tree in their yard. They invited us in for coffee…. …. and we shared e mail addresses ….. and partook of a wonderful, impromptu brunch!! Pilger bar we came across in the middle of nowhere. Mike was suitably delighted … until he discovered it was no longer being used….no beer to be had!! Finally!! The pilger hostel in Maerstetten. The common room at the hostel. Our bedroom which we shared with 2 Swiss girls. Share this:TwitterFacebookEmailPrintLike this:Like Loading...
